The Dumbing Down of America Is Now on the Fast Track

By Eddie Howell

Recent news items:

10 Statues Liberals Want to Destroy” (Newsmax)
They include Mount Rushmore.

ESPN: Decision to Remove Asian Broadcaster Robert Lee from Calling Plays for UVA Game ‘Felt Right’” (CNS News)
Looks like a story from The Onion, but isn't.

BLM Leader Demands White People Give Their Houses to Black Families” (MRC-TV)
So silly it doesn't merit a comment, but this is supposed to be some intelligent person making the demand. And some are taking it seriously, I suppose.

Al Gore's Hype” (Jewish World Review)
Will he get another Nobel Prize or Oscar for this?

Above are referenced just a few of the ridiculous things I believe show that the Dumbing Down of America is picking up speed.

The response to President Trump's reported comments after the Charlottesville tragedy show that now, many news items and events depend on Mr. Trump's statements of the day – in this instance massive criticism and claims that Trump didn't condemn neo-Nazism and white supremacy when he did. But truth means little to the MSM.

The following video features Greg Gutfeld of Fox News on how the media covered the events at Charlottesville:

The full-on anti-Trump hate campaign is not just politics – it's evil. The objective of its puppeteers, like George Soros and other globalists, is to destroy not only Donald Trump, but America as well. The duped individuals who are going along with this nasty business have been radicalized in a very similar way to jihadist radicals.

It is an anti-knowledge, anti-academic, anti-white, anti-human, and anti-freedom campaign aimed at establishing historical ignorance and stoking hate and fear among different groups. When you erase history, that is a form of dumbing down. It is plain dumb to be “intimidated” by a Civil War statue. But these protesters against the Confederacy are being led to think that somehow these statues pose a danger to them. The Civil War ended 150 years ago. Thanks to the Democrats' support of Jim Crow laws and the Ku Klux Klan, racial discrimination and hatred continued. But the progress made in the decades since has been remarkable. Few people seriously advocate or support racism. And slavery is unthinkable.

The globalists and Democrats, deeply stung by Hillary Clinton's loss, have embarked on a seditious campaign to get rid of President Donald Trump. Anything they don't like must be caused by “racism.”
But the racists are most numerous among “Progressive” politicians and race hustlers. Their racism exceeds anyone else's. Black Lives Matter (by the way, do black lives matter in Chicago?) and Al Sharpton stand out, along with politicians who make a campaign out of falsely accusing Donald Trump of racism. But politically, that's about all they have. They have no ideas or program proposals that would improve things for the American people. Those at the top of this movement are not interested in economic prosperity. They are interested in socialism and bringing down the Constitution, and enforcing political correctness.

The goal of socialism is socialism. The end result of the globalists' and “Progressives'” plans would be the end of any restraint on things dear to them, such as forced redistribution, world government, more abortion, and more of many other forms of death. You can be assured that the Democrat leadership and the anti-Trump leaders care nothing for the American middle class or the American people in general. They don't love America, they hate America.

As I have said before, the “loyal opposition” is no longer loyal. America would be better off in the hands of the mafia than the globalists and “Progressives.” The Anti-Trump movement is led by people who want to destroy American history and transform America into a third-world hellhole. This they are attempting partly by deceiving people into thinking that in America as it is today, they are and always will be victims. In fact, the poor in America would be considered very well off in many countries. But the progress of the years since the Civil Rights Act of 1964 in race relations, which has been considerable in terms of education, economic opportunity, and social acceptance of all races, is being systematically destroyed by people falsely claiming to want better race relations. What they really want is to stir up as much trouble and confusion as possible, in order to curtail freedom and physically remove or destroy what and whom they don't like.

The tragedy is that good people can be corrupted and taken in by the Big Lie of the globalists. That is what is taking place in many universities, political bodies, and in our streets. The antifa thugs are truly no better, and in some ways worse, than the despicable white supremacists they claim to oppose. They show their lack of courage by wearing masks, and their cowardice and viciousness by attacking defenseless people. For these people to claim to be anti-fascist is a stupid, ironic, and sick joke. It's amazing that anyone would accept that ridiculous idea. They are actually demonstrating fascism. They are simply the black shirts of the globalists who are paying them. But Saul Alinsky would be proud.

Needed: Effective Opposition to the Democrats by the GOP

President and Mrs. Obama
By Eddie Howell

Ever-increasingly for the last several years, it has become evident that people who truly cannot be trusted with political power have been the ones in charge. Barack Obama has shown himself to be the communist-mentored socialist-fascist that he actually is, as well as, it seems, a race-baiting hate monger not much different from his “spiritual” mentor “Rev.” Jeremiah Wright. As a Christian, the president is a strange specimen indeed. If all this weren't enough, he has actively worked to undermine the American economy with his crackpot schemes on “climate change” (such as the failed cap and trade bill, and now the evil new EPA regulations), weird financial regulations that keep “too-big-to-fail” in place while making things tougher on smaller banks.

His administration has seen a mind-boggling increase in public debt (which can never be paid) and annual deficits. He has been a far bigger promise breaker and liar than Bill Clinton, which is really saying something. (“If you like your health-care plan you can keep your plan,” just for starters.)

Jonathan Gruber should be thanked for shedding some light on the thinking of the administration during the development of Obamacare: it was designed to be sold to the “stupid” American people, who were smart enough to recognize that it was not a good plan, and mostly did not support it. Yet they suffered from it in millions of cases by receiving a severe downgrade of their insurance coverage and are set to receive even more insulting and injurious blows from it as time goes on.

Obama presided over an IRS that deliberately went after his political enemies. His claims of ignorance are not believable. He fiddled while the American outpost in Benghazi burned. Nor did his secretary of state Ms. Clinton bother to respond to repeated requests for security help there. And why was Ambassador Chris Stevens in Benghazi on September 11 anyway? That episode in itself should have resulted in deep apologies and major resignations, but the administration basically blew it off, and lied to the families of the dead Americans that some cockamamie video was responsible, then went after the producer of the video with a vengeance.

Political careers should have ended over the items mentioned above. Obama and his cronies have shown themselves unfit to serve in public office. And so far, I haven't even mentioned Michelle Obama's school lunch disasters, by which it's hard not to think of her as just mean. And her endless vacations. I have suggested before that the president and his family be budgeted for about a billion dollars annually for vacations in the hope that they would stay out of the country more of the time.

* * *

Meanwhile, the GOP has some troubles of its own. As Rush Limbaugh pointed out, the leadership doesn't like their base. Just when Republicans, fresh from strong mid-term election victories, need to be at their best, the leaders are afraid that something conservative might happen if the dissenters get their way and that would, well, mess up some things for the cocktail-circuit “leaders.” Apparently, most of the House members didn't want to upset the apple cart, so they were contented to support Speaker John Boehner. I would prefer to see Louie Gohmert as speaker. But all that is minor stuff in the big picture compared to the disaster the Democrats have foisted upon us.

Patrick Buchanan points out that Democrats have plenty to worry about regarding their people, some of whom, including the president, to the chagrin of most Democratic voters, miss few opportunities to stir up racial turmoil, and who regard “Rev.” Al Sharpton as a guiding light on racial matters. Most Americans, as Buchanan says, have sided with the police (even more so after two officers were murdered in New York) and against the rioters whose “protests” were often far from “peaceful,” and against DeBlasio, Sharpton, etc.*

So, except for the things mentioned here and some others, like ISIS terrorists, Iranian leaders playing Obama for a sucker in the worst way, the mistreatment of Israel, and a good many other issues, things aren't too bad. Republicans have an opportunity to show some backbone and some leadership in Washington if they so choose. I hope they have the courage to be the opposition party they're supposed to be.

*Paragraph updated 01/13/15. Highlighted portion was corrected. Previously, it read as though I was painting Democrats in general as race hustlers, which, of course, they are not. The leaders who are represent a problem for the party.

Jimmy Carter Strikes Again

Former President Jimmy Carter, widely recognized for his community-spirit efforts with Habitat for Humanity, his international efforts to help ensure fair elections, and even a Sunday School class that draws many visitors, has received some unfavorable attention last year and this year.

President Carter engineered the Israel-Egypt peace agreement, and received a Nobel Peace Prize, but seemed to accomplish more good things after his term as president was over. As president, he ran into considerable difficulty with “malaise,” and, of course, the Iran hostage crisis, as well as a tough economy. He was unfortunately one our most inept presidents, but most would agree that he was seen as a man of good influence in the world after his presidency ended, in the spirit of his Mideast peace accomplishment.

But despite that, he has made himself a target of justifiable criticism on two fronts in 2008 and 2009. First, he drew the ire of Israel by meeting with Hamas terrorist leaders in April (also against the wishes of the Bush Administration). He also wrote a book very critical of Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians.

The Anti-Defamation League released the following:
“New York, NY, April 11, 2008 … Abraham H. Foxman, National Director of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), issued the following statement regarding Jimmy Carter's announcement that he will meet with the head of the terrorist group Hamas.

“Jimmy Carter does it again. His decision to meet with the head of the terrorist group Hamas is one more example of the destructive role the former President is playing with regard to issues affecting Israel and American interests in the Middle East.

“At a time when the anti-terrorist coalition of nations is struggling to maintain pressure on Hamas, Mr. Carter's action can only serve to undermine that effort. Once again, Mr. Carter seems more comfortable with extremists and terrorists than with democratic friends like Israel, which he lambasted in his book, Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid.

“It would be better for all if Mr. Carter would permanently remove the Middle East from his agenda.” [1]

Another article at the ADL website says the following:
“There is much speculation about Carter's motives -- religious, personal, financial. In the end, none of that matters. What does matter is that he is an adversary of the State of Israel and we have our responsibility to treat him accordingly.” [2] (Emphasis added)

More recently, Mr. Carter has been the source of controversy and criticism from both the conservative side and the White House for his statement that Joe Wilson’s shout of “You Lie!” during President Obama’s health care speech of September 9 was motivated by racism. Several prominent people, including RNC Chairman Michael Steele, and White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs (who speaks for Obama) have expressed their disagreement with Carter’s accusation. Or, as New York Daily News senior correspondent David Saltonstall put it: “White House to Jimmy Carter: Stop helping us.” [3]

Carter’s racism accusation fits the pattern of several instances of liberals playing the race card recently. “The suggestion that race is behind criticism of Obama has been made by New York Gov. David Paterson and Reps. Charlie Rangel of New York, Diane Watson of California and Hank Johnson of Georgia, among others…. According to Johnson, people will be putting on ‘white hoods and white uniforms again and riding through the countryside’ if emerging racist attitudes, like those subtly supported by Wilson, are not rebuked.” [4]

Concerning Rep. Joe Wilson: “‘There is not a racist bone in my dad’s body,’ said Alan Wilson [Joe Wilson’s son], an Iraq veteran. ‘He doesn't even laugh at distasteful jokes.’” [5]

It seems to me that former President Jimmy Carter has shown some seriously questionable judgment on these issues and has not contributed constructively, but rather has succeeded in offending and hurting people who didn’t deserve it. He questions their motives, but he might want to look at his own.

Wise Sayings of the Political Elite

Vice-President Joe Biden, defending the $787 billion stimulus package:
“We’re going to go bankrupt as a nation,” Biden warned…. “People, when I say that,
look at me and say, ‘What are you talking about, Joe? You’re telling me we have to go spend money to keep from going bankrupt?’” he said. “The answer is yes.”[1]

If spending is the way to avoid bankruptcy, then health care and cap and trade should keep us in the black forever. Sure, this ineffective stimulus is keeping us back from the edge of collapse … how’s that again?

Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL)
“When we asked questions of the white male nominees of a Republican president, we were basically trying to find out whether -- to make sure that they would go far enough in understanding the plight of minorities, because clearly that was not in their DNA.” [2]

Isn’t the senator a white male? I guess he knows his own nature, but that’s quite a claim, knowing the DNA of all white male court nominees. Some scientist, eh?

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg
“Frankly I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of. So that Roe was going to be then set up for Medicaid funding for abortion.” [3]

This is a surprising and even shocking comment. What populations is it that “we don’t want to have too many of?” Those who might use Medicaid? Who is the “we”? So Roe v. Wade is a eugenics tool? Speaking of eugenics, that’s what we’ll see after Obama’s health care plan is implemented, if it passes. That’s what rationed care produces.
